UPKO Song Contest

They sound upset sebab kurang penyertaan tapi bila orang minta borang...durang tidak kasi pula...weird!

Gigihnya produksi LRX

Peserta Paling Berani Tersingkir

Yeah...yeah...saya balik Tawau!

Let's recap the Top 10 concert last week. Having seen their performances through YouTube....oops...kedapatan tidak tengok live, my ranking..

1. Aliff - Tebalnya suara dia, jantan habis..:=). Kira OKlah, not that pitchy except kena improve lagi nyanyian low notes. Kawalan suara boleh tahan...kurang semput...walaupun banyak pergerakan . Cuma sebutan kurang jelas.

2. Shahir - Wah lagu makanan dia..no wonder. So not much issue on vocal performance, except yang iras2 Jamal tu.

3. Maulana - Persembahan vokal sekadar boleh tahan. Sebab kalau dengar dengan teliti 'vibe' soul/R & B sebagai penyeri lagu ni memang tiada. Saya rasa koreografi tu pun tidak payahlah..he looked very unnatural and not original.

4. Daus - After the key is lowered, this song seems very easy for him, but still he's unable to nail it completely...almost.

5. Ain - Tone suara ok, not very stylish but sounds quite polished (ada...what I call sound effect), as if she's been singing for years. Tapi bab kawal-mengawal suara masih goyah. Nyanyian sebelum korus ok...masuk ja korus ada messy sikit.

Tapi bahagian nada-nada rendah di awal-awal rangkap, sounds kurang menarik (macam she emphasized more on her movement instead of nailing the right notes).

7. Adira - Sounds unpolished. keras, kuat dan tajam betul kedengaran suara dia nyanyi lagu ni. She needs to play around with her voice a bit...varying her vibrato, her tone, add some sound effects etc. On the plus side she sang mostly in tune.

8. Anum - Bab vocal tone and voice control lebih kurang si Ain juga.

9. Iwan - Actually i'm not sure what is so special about this contestant, ramai pula peminat tu. Vokal hampir tiada style, sekadar mampu mengangkat nada..hmm.

10. Nad - Just like Iwan, I'm puzzle why this girl is chosen in the first place...no style at all plus very pitchy.

Hilang betul keghairahan menonton AF musim ni, I think semua orang pun tahu kan.

Felix Juara "Carta Artis Tempatan Sabah"

Inilah dia keputusan Pertandingan Akhir "Carta Artis Tempatan Sabah" (CATS)

Kredit: Sabah Times

This gundohing picture is paste on all major newspapers today for arguably being the oldest Murut (112 years old! Mind you). Could he be the oldest person in Sabah as well?

Talking about post-octogenarians, it just brings back one funny story while we were in Telupid looking for diesel to fill up our tank. It so happened that the only petrol kiosk in Telupid was closed on that particular day. A local then informed us of an alternative place to get diesel. Having reached the place (a kampung sundry shop cum petrol kiosk) we saw no one but a pakcik. He looked like in his 70's or maybe 80's, nothing like the gundohing above. We approached him with full of manner and told him about our intention. To our surprised he raised his voice as loud as yelling at someone who is 50 meters away...*LOL* (takajut habis bah). Luckily there was a woman not very far who was quick explaining to us that the man we were talking to is indeed 100 years old and could hardly hear. After exchanging 'shouts' with him several times we finally asked the woman to be our spokesperson, besides there was a slight language barrier..hehe. Seeing the two of them talking is like seeing two persons in heaty argument *LOL*. We finally told to wait for the pakcik's grandson who was suppose to be the person on duty but away just for a little while. While waiting kami berteriak-teriak sama tu pakcik...PAKCIK ASAL MANA!? (repeated at least three times)...sempat lagi kami bergurau sama cucu dia supaya letak amaran "Saya 100 tahun dan pekak...harap maaf"...haha!
