KDCA, MAESTRO seal deal to market Sabah artistes and singers


KOTA KINABALU: The Kadazandusun Cultural Association (KDCA) and MAESTRO had sealed an understanding of cooperation to promote and market Academy Fantasia artistes and singers from Sabah as well as undertake joint activities to develop talents from the states. The understanding was reached between chief operating officer of Maestro Talents and Events Management Sdn. Bhd, Freddie Fernandez and KDCA representative John Paujik at a leading hotel here recently. KDCA will be promoting the AF artistes by organising a series of concerts in Sabah possibly including artistes from AF4 which should be starting its next season soon. The Kadazandusun AF artistes invited to become life-members of KDCA have been apppointed ambassadors of performing arts and music for the association. KDCA hopes more talented young Kadazandusuns will become successful singers and musicians that rise to national an even international stature. The association recently organised its first concert featuring Linda Nanuwil and other Kadazandusun singers and artistes at Hongkod KDCA. It will also help launch Feliux Agus' first album expected to be released in March or April in Kota Kinabalu. This will be followed by concerts featuring AF artistes and singers from AF1 and AF3 in Tamparuli, Kota Belud and Keningau. A percentage of the proceeds from this concert will be chanelled to the Koisaan Education Trust Fund, an educational fund to help qualified Kadazandusun students pursue education to the university level.
