KOTA KINABALU - Sabah's entry Misteri Dendam Balan-Balan - The Movie, would be featured during the 23rd Malaysia Film Festival , to be hosted by Sabah for the first time, next year. Producer Datu Omar Ali said that the Sabah local film industry would expect stiff competitions from the more established film industry in the rest of the country, particularly the peninsula. He said Misteri Dendam Balan-Balan - The Movie would expect to be screened in cinemas next year. The Mar Production movie, directed by Amith Abidin, would be promoting interesting places like Kota Belud, Tuaran and Kota Kinabalu, for shooting on locations, with funds sourced from the National Film Development Corporation (Finas) and Mar Production itself. Datu Omar said the movie involved a production cost of RM1.2 million, and RM300,000 would be spent on promotion expenditures. The cast comprises Nasir Bilal Khan, Rosita Che Wan, Julia Hana, Cico Harahap, with Sabahan actors Awang Karim, Bobby Sukiran, Norsahar Ahmad and Asmawan Adol, as well as several extras from Kota Belud.
